Originally from Pikogan, a small First Nation community in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec, Samian has conquered and proudly bears the colours of his people, those for whom he is seeking recognition and respect. A voice which today expresses a story of many centuries passed, the Métis rapper recites his poetry with the soul of a warrior.
In 2012, Samian discovers a passion for photography. Thanks to his travels, he is oftentimes a bystander in people’s everyday lives. He trades in his words for images and continues to bear witness to the realities of the human condition. In both photography and poetry, the human experience remains the central focus of his artistic process.
